The Career Service Council is pleased to announce that the October 2004 Traditions of Excellence awardee is Jamie Sumners. Jamie is a senior programmer/analyst in the Information Technology (ITS) Department. She started at Tech in July 1996.
Her nominator(s) said “Jamie has been absolutely wonderful to work with . . . she’s on top of things, takes the time to understand the process, makes us think all aspects of the process through, and has a great sense of humor throughout. Jamie often sees different options that add so much to what we are trying to accomplish—the few roadblocks that have come up were navigated around by Jamie’s commitment to make things work. The end result is that the time and energy spent by Jamie (and Vicki and Jon) have greatly improved how ResLife does business and therefore decreased the time students have to spend on paperwork to live on-campus. Jamie’s customer service to us and the end result of better customer service for our students is truly an example of excellence. ."
