The Career Service Council is pleased to announce that the August 2004 Traditions of Excellence (TEA) awardee is Connie Van Bockern. Connie is a Senior Secretary in the office of the Deans of Engineering and Science. She has been employed at Tech since July 1995.
Her nominator(s) stated: "Connie is a hard-working individual whose positive personality and dedication are contagious. She spent countless hours this summer reviewing, editing and proofing the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology) booklets for the nine engineering departments, assuring the major deadlines were met. Her keen eye for detail caught several errors, that would have reflected poorly on Tech if they had not been corrected. Upon completion of the ABET booklets, Connie diligently began work on the HLC (Higher Learning Commission) report. These tasks were performed in addition to duties for the three engineering deans. Connie's tireless efforts and willingness to help others when needed have earned her recognition for these outstanding achievements."
