The Center of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing and Production (CAMP)
CAMP was officially dedicated in October 1997. Modeling the multi-disciplinary, team-based philosophy to which we remain committed. CAMP is currently directed by Dr. Michael Batchelder (Electrical Engineering) and Executive Director, Dr. Dan Dolan (Mechanical Engineering), Academic Director.
As part of their education, CAMP students participate in enterprise teams centered on internal or externally sponsored projects. Teams consist of students at all levels, from freshmen through graduate students, together with faculty and industry partners. They are open to students from all disciplines.
During the past decade CAMP teams have been enormously successful in competitions featuring many of the best science and engineering universities in the world. Highlights include the Aero Design team's first place finish at Aero Design West two years in a row and the Unmanned Aerial Robotics team's first place finish in the International Aerial Robotics Competition at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Current CAMP teams include:
- Aero Design
- Alternative Fuel Vehicle
- ChE Car
- Concrete Canoe
- Ham Club
- Human Powered Vehicle
- Robotics
- Mini Baja
- Formula SAE
- Steel Bridge
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
