STUDENT LOANS: PRIVATE ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMS
Larger banking institutions offer private loan programs to further assist students who are unable to obtain sufficient Federal Student Aid in order to attend college. You can Click Here for information regarding private alternative loans, including a list of lenders that offer these types of loans (due to low loan volume in prior years, Citi Student Loans no longer offers their products to our students; therefore, do not attempt to apply for a loan through them). If you do not have any type of credit history, or if you have had credit problems in the past, you may be required to have a creditworthy cosigner. Restrictions to the amount you are eligible to borrow each year apply.
Students from South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Wyoming or Wisconsin may want to review the information that is available for the Dakota Education Alternative Loan (DEAL).
Students from Minnesota can review the information that is available for the Minnesota SELF Loan Program, an alternative loan program for Minnesota residents.
Alaska residents can review the information that is available for the Alaska Supplemental Education Loan Program, an alternative loan program for Alaska residents.
