Music at SDSM&T
The Music Division of the Department of Humanities provides an environment where students develop their creative and artistic abilities, enhancing lifelong career and recreational habits and developing teamwork skills. Students may earn graduation credits in music courses while preparing for their future careers.
SDSM&T music ensembles present regular concerts each semester and perform with local area arts entities. SDSM&T has received national and international recognition by ensembles appearing at professional conferences, international competitions, and such venues as the Washington National Cathedral.
SDSM&T music faculty are known for their contributions to ChoralNet - the Internet Center for Choral Music, SDACDA - the South Dakota chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, the South Dakota Music Educators Association, and the South Dakota Bandmasters Association.
