Responsibilities

Instrumental award winners are expected to enroll in Symphonic Band and in Jazz Band or Pep Band for the academic year and perform a leadership role in at least one of those ensembles. Variations may occur depending on the discretion of the Director of Bands and the instrument of the award winner.

Vocal award winners are expected to enroll in Concert Choir and Master Chorale for the academic year and perform a leadership role in at least one of those ensembles.

Keyboard award winners choose whether to audition for either Band or Choral awards at the time of the audition application.  Award recipients are thus expected to be involved with the ensemble(s) of that category at the discretion of the appropriate Director.

All recipients are featured in a solo capacity during the award year in a concert of the ensemble of the Director’s choosing.
