Tobacco-Free Policy
NUMBER: IV-08
(Formerly Policy IV-A-21)
The School of Mines campus
and its facilities and all state owned vehicles are designated as tobacco-free
environments per the initial 1992 Executive Order 92-10.
- Tobacco use, smoking and chewing tobacco, is prohibited in all
facilities under the control of the School of Mines.
- Tobacco use, smoking and chewing tobacco, is only permitted
outdoors in locations that are a minimum of 25 feet away from any building
entrance or open window.
- Employee violations should be reported to Facilities Services
and/or the immediate supervisor of the employee, if known, for appropriate
disciplinary action. Student violations should be reported to Facilities
Services and/or the Dean of Students Office for appropriate disciplinary
action.
