Leave Information

12-Month Employees: Employees who work at 100% level of effort 12 months out of the year accrue annual leave at the rate of 10 hours per month up to a maximum balance of 240 hours (accrual amounts and maximums change after 15 years of employment to an accrual rate of 13.334 hours per month up to a maximum balance of 320 hours). Sick Leave is earned at the rate of 9.334 hours per month. There is no maximum accrual for sick leave. 12-month employees who work at less than 100% level of effort earn both annual leave and sick leave on a pro-rated basis in proportion to their level of effort.

Less than 12-Month Employees: 9-month faculty do not accrue annual leave. All other types of permanent employees working less than 12-months accrue annual and sick leave only during the months when the employee is actually working and being compensated; annual and sick leave accrual rates are in direct proportion to the employee's level of effort and have the same maximums as the 12-month employees.
