November, 2001 -- Irene Vanderbush
The Career Service Council is pleased to announce that the November Traditions of Excellence awardee is Irene Vanderbush. Irene is a Financial Aid Assistant in Academic and Enrollment Services. Irene started at Tech in September 1979 as a Staff Assistant II in Financial Aid. She was reclassified numerous times in the next 8 years (Administrative Secretary I, Administrative Secretary II, Staff Assistant III, and Secretary). In July 1988, she was reclassified to her current position of Financial Aid Assistant.
Her nominator(s) said “Irene is always willing to help others with special projects in AES. After working in Financial Aid for over 22 years, Irene knows how important it is for our students to be able to concentrate on their academic pursuits rather than on whether or not they have enough money to afford attending SDSM&T. Through her efforts, Irene has brought great credit upon herself, the Financial Aid Office and SDSM&T".
