We are here to help you with your health care needs. If you are sick or just need some medical advice, please feel free to call or stop by the Student Health Office.

Hours: Monday and Friday 9:00-12:00 noon
Tuesday 12:00 noon-3:00 pm and Wednesday 11:00-2:00 pm
(Physician Assistant Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)

  1. Students may be seen for routine and acute medical care which can reasonably be performed at the Student Health Office. There is no charge for this.
  2. Students may be referred to Creekside Family Practice for services not covered at the Student Health Office. You will be charged for these services with a 10% discount. The staff at Creekside Family Practice will file any health insurance you may have.
  3. Limited on-site laboratory services will be provided at no charge to students. These tests include Strep screens and Urine dipsticks. Pregnancy tests are available for a discounted price of $26.10.
  4. Medicap Pharmacy (located at 339 St. Patrick or 2201 Jackson Blvd.) offers $3.00 discounts on generic prescriptions for School of Mines' students.
  5. Allergy shots are provided at no charge (students must provide their own serum).
  6. Routine pap smears and pelvic exams are provided during scheduled times. There will be a $35.00 charge for the actual pap test.
  7. Services not covered: obstetric care, major lacerations, fracture care requiring splinting or casting, ace wraps, lab work (except strep screen and urine dip stick), x-ray, medications not supplied, care needing further evaluation, and hospitalization.
  8. During hours when the Student Health Office is closed, you may call Creekside Family Practice at 341-1208. Please tell them that you are a student at SDSM&T.
  9. For life threatening emergencies please call 911 or go to Rapid City Regional Hospital located at 353 Fairmont Blvd. (on the corner of 5tb Street and Fairmont).

We can see you on a walk-in basis, however we would prefer to have you schedule an appointment. Our goal is to provide you with quality care and we would appreciate any comments you may have. Please feel free to ask questions.
