Play Around with Model 4-1 Lab Session Assignment IE 441 (Friday, 2/6/09)

(Due Wednesday 2/11/09)

You may want to read Chapter 4 through page 131, or view the Chapter 4 Powerpoint through slide 26.

To verify that you have played around with Model 4-1 you are required to make changes in the model and state what happened.

Make a change in each type module and report how it changed the results of the simulation. Model 4-1 has six types of modules: Create, Assign, Process, Decide, Record, and Dispose. Additionally, make changes and report them for Run/Setup for Run Control and for the entity pictures. Your writeup should have eight (8) obvious sections one each for each type of module, and one each for entity pictures and the Run/Setup. Additionally, Answer the two questions below.

(1) what does the variable TNOW do in Arena?

(2) Why were three Dispose blocks used in Model 4-1?

You may work in groups of up to four and submit your assignment as a group. You may work as individuals, also. You can e-mail me the answers in the text of an e-mail message, attach a MS Word file to an e-mail, attach a text file to an e-mail, hand in a typed version, or hand in a handwritten version. The grade form is a separate file this time.

Your assignment should look something like the following.
